Suji Laddu without Sugar syrup/ Chasani By Surekha Hasabnis-Joshi

Suji laddu always made with chasani/ thick sugar syrup. This process is lengthy. So I made samolina/suji laddu without chasani.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 Cup suji/samolina
  • 2.5 Cup powder sugar
  • Half coconut scraped
  • 250 gms Mawa
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • Dryfruits of our choice
  • 1/4 Cup clarified butter/ Desi ghee
  • 3/4 Cup Milk
  • Saffron optional

PREPARATION

    Take a Pan add desi ghee in pan, add suji/ samolina and roast it on medium flame. After some time add scrapped coconut in it. When it becomes aromatic off the gas.

    Add powder sugar in hot suji. Mix it well. Take a pan add Mawa, stir it on low flame when it becomes semisolid add 3/4 Cup milk and boil it. Consistancy should be like thick dalfry.

    Now add suji & sugar powder mixture, Cardamom Powder, saffron, dryfruits of choice in mawa mixture. Mix it well and cover it.

    When mixture becomes cool make laddus. Shelf life is 15 days.
