INGREDIENTS

  • Ingredients:
  • Sponge gourd, washed and peeled. Cut into 2" cylindrical shapes
  • ½ table spoon lemon juice
  • ½ tea spoon black pepper powder
  • Beetle leaves- 6 nos
  • Salt to taste
  • For the stuffing
  • Boiled mashed potatoes -1 cup
  • Grated panneer - 1 cup
  • Chopped green chillies - 1 tea spoon
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tea spoon
  • Chopped ginger - ½ tea spoon
  • Garam masala - 1 tea spoon
  • Roasted cumin powder -½ tea spoon
  • For cooking
  • 1 table spoon cooking oil

PREPARATION

    Rub the sponge gourd with lemon juice, pepper powder and salt .

    Mix all the ingredients for the stuffing .

    Scoop out the pulp from cut sponge gourd pieces .

  4. 4

    Fill the hollow cavity in the sponge gourd pieces with the stuffing .

    Wrap individual pieces in beetle leaf and secure with the thread .

    Arrange the wrapped sponge gourd pieces in a greased pan .

    Saute over low flame . Cover the pan with lid. Keep flipping the sponge gourd frequently for even cooking .

    Serve hot with vegetables salad .
