Green Tomato Chutney By Nilima Deshpande

Green Tomato Chutney is a Tangy, Sweet and Sour sider dish that can be accompanied with main course. With a very good to taste and one of a kind recipe.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Green Tomatoes
  • 10 to 12 Green Chillies
  • 2 Tablespoon Jeera
  • 2 Tablespoon Til (Sesame)
  • 1 bunch Coriander
  • 2 Garlic
  • 2 tablespoon Jaggery
  • 4 to 5 Curry Leaves (Kadipatta)
  • 1 Teaspoon Hing (Asafoetida)
  • 1½ Teaspoon Salt
  • 14 Tablespoon Edible Oil

PREPARATION

    In a pan, heat 2 tablespoon oil.

    After the oil is heated, Fry the chillies.
  3. 3

    Close the lid of the pan for some time.
  4. 4

    After the chillies are fried well remove the lid.
  5. 5

    Cut the Tomatoes into small pieces.
  6. 6

    Add these tomatoes to the pan and fry it.
  7. 7

    Use lid to give a good steam to the mixture.
  8. 8

    After the tomatoes are half fried, add Sesame/Til and 1 Tablespoon Jeera to it.

    Fry the mixture well and stir continuously till it is cooked nicely.

    After the mixture is cooked properly, take a mixer grinder.

    Add this cooked mixture, Garlic, Coriander, Jaggery and Salt to it.

    Grind the mixture properly. And keep the chutney mixture in a bowl aside.

    In a pan, pour 2 tablespoon of oil.

    After the oil is heated add 1 Tablespoon Jeera, Curry leaves, Hing ( Asafoetidto it.

    Mix it well and fry the mixture.

    Pour this Tadka mixture in the chutney mixture that we created.

    Mix it well.

    Finally, the Green Tomatoe Chutney os ready .

    Serve it with coriander garnish for better taste.
