A famous Hyderabadi dessert which gets its richness from the saffron milk and dry fruits. The crispiness of the bread and the flavourful bread, fragranced with rose water and coated with condensed milk is quite a treat to the palates. It has a crunchy dry fruit topping.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 bread slices
  • 1 litre milk
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar syrup
  • 1 teaspoon green cardamom
  • 1 tablespoon refined oil
  • 3 strand saffron
  • For Garnishing
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cashews
  • 1 tablespoon raisins
  • 1 tablespoon chopped almonds

    Double Ka Meetha is one of those amazingly delicious recipes which you can relish any time of the day and the taste is simply mind blowing. It might look very complicated to cook, but the good news is that you can prepare it in just a few minutes. Here’s how you go about it! Take a pan, add oil and heat it over moderate flame. Carefully place the bread slices in the pan and fry it till golden brown in hue. Meanwhile, add milk in a separate vessel and heat it over high flame.

    Add saffron in it. When the milk is almost reduced to half, add rose water. In the meanwhile, pre-heat the oven at 120 degree. Layer the fried bread with sugar syrup, condensed milk, saffron milk and bake it for around 10 minutes. Once done, garnish the dessert with dry fruits and serve hot.
