Burnt Basque Cheesecake By Akshata Malik

It is small batch recipe which can be whipped up easily. No fancy equipment needed. It only needs a bowl and a whisk. And a Tiny bit of patience for it to cool down. Not very Sweet.

Serves2-4

Cooking Time~3 to 4 hrs (with chilling time)

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 gms Cream Cheese, Softened at room temp
  • 150 gms Fresh cream
  • 5 gms corn flour / corn starch / Maida
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 60 gms sugar

PREPARATION

    Pre heat the oven to 220 celsius. Prep a 5 inch cake tin with baking/parchament paper.

    In a bowl, take the cheese and beat it till super soft & fluffy.

    Add the sugar and mix well. Next add the cream and combine well.

    Add the egg and mix in. Next add the vanilla.
  5. 5

    Lastly, add the flour and mix it well.

    Pour it in the prepared tin, bake at 220 C for about 30-45 mins (time will vary as per Oven Brands).

    Once the top is browned and the cheesecake is jiggly in the middle, it is done. It will rise while baking.

    Remove from the oven and cool it to Room Temperature. While cooling it will fall.

    Either serve it once cooled or chill it in the fridge (for approx. 1-2 hrfor the perfect texture.
