Bajre ka pua By Ruchi Srivastava

This is a healthy winter recipe as it incorporates bajra and jaggery. Bajra is a superfood specially eaten in winters as it contains potassium fibre omega 3 and iron. Jaggery helps cleanse the respiratory tract and gut.

INGREDIENTS

  • Bajre ka atta 1 cup
  • Wholewheat flour 1tbsp
  • Sesame seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Desi ghee 1 tsp
  • Jaggery 1/2 cup
  • Water 1 cup
  • Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  • Dessicated coconut 1 tbsp
  • Oil for frying

PREPARATION

    Take 1 cup water in a saucepan and add 1/2 cup jaggery and boil till dissolved.

    Take the bajre ka atta in a large bowl and add wholewheat flour, sesame seeds, desi ghee, cardamom powder, dessicated coconut. Mix it with a spoon.

    To the atta mixture add the slightly cooled jaggery water and knead a firm but soft dough.

    Cover and rest the dough for 10 minutes.

    Take a ball of the dough and roll out a round shape.

    Deep fry these puas in medium hot oil till cooked and crisp.
