Armenian Nutmeg Cake is a unique cake combining texture of Tart and Cake with nutmeg flavor.

Serves8 Servings

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chilled butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp nutmeg powder
  • 1/4 cup curd
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnut dusted with flour

PREPARATION

    In a mixing bowl mix all purpose flour and baking powder.
  2. 2

    Now add chilled butter and rub with fingers to make bread crumbs like mixture.
  3. 3

    Add brown sugar and mix together.
  4. 4

    In a lined 8' baking tin spread half of prepared mixture and make a thin layer.

    Press the mixture to form an even layer.

    In another bowl mix milk, baking soda and nutmeg powder.

    Add curd and mix everything properly. Thereafter add remaining dry mixture prepared earlier.

    Mix together and pour onto the prepared base of dry mixture. Top with dusted walnuts.

    In a pre heated oven bake @180 degrees for 50 minutes.

    Let the cake cool down then serve.
