Ginny & Georgia season 4 will finally start production in September 2025! The new chapter is already creating a lot of excitement, building on the massive success of the third season. Fans are eagerly anticipating the resolution of dramatic cliffhangers and a deeper exploration of the Miller family's complicated life. Here are all the details we know about Ginny & Georgia season 4!

Ginny and Georgia Season 3 has become massively successful

Netflix announced the renewal of Ginny & Georgia for a fourth season during the May 2023 Upfronts. Back then, the streaming giant announced two more seasons, firmly establishing the programme as one of its signature dramas. After its launch on June 5, 2025, the third season swiftly rose to the top of charts throughout the world. Featured in the Netflix Top 10 in 90 countries, it racked up 53 million views and 560 million watching hours in only six weeks. Even though it was only eligible for a few weeks, the series managed to rank 10th in Netflix's Engagement Report for January-June 2025.

So what happened in season 3?

Who would have thought that Georgia's habit of drinking milk directly from the container might lead to such serious consequences? Author Sarah Lampert has informed Tudum that the character is indeed pregnant. We don't yet know whether Paul (Scott Porter), Georgia's estranged husband, or Joe (Raymond Ablack), the man with whom she can truly be herself, is the father of her child.

However, it wasn't the only clue that Sarah Glinski, who produced the programme, and Lampert herself left in the series' conclusion. It is noteworthy that in the last few minutes of the show, we see them drive by Georgia's house in Wellsbury. This is significant since Georgia has spent her whole life escaping from her traumatic past with her violent stepfather and mother. This season, Georgia received a call from her father, with whom she has not had contact since she was six years old, when he was in prison. Despite her mother's insistence that he had attempted to assassinate her and Georgia, he wished to forewarn her that her version of events about his incarceration was incomplete.

The third season completely alters the interaction between Ginny and Austin, Georgia's children, played by Diesel La Torraca. After Ginny's covert plot to rescue their mother caused Austin to blame his father, Gil (Aaron Ashmore), for the murder committed by Georgia, she will have to face the consequences of her actions. It becomes quite depressing for Georgia when she discovers her children used this circumstance for their own gain. Additionally, this realisation prompts Georgia to seek treatment and permanently break the pattern. She is now seeing the direct consequences of her behaviour for her children, as they are imitating her every move.

The experiment findings also show that by season's end, Ginny had completely transformed into Georgia. This is a fresh aspect of Ginny's character that we haven't witnessed since Season 4. At the conclusion of the season and into the summer, she feels closer to her dad, Zion (Nathan Mitchell), due to his request for joint custody and their upcoming Korean vacation than she did at the beginning. She matured during the summer and is now ready to take extreme measures to defend her loved ones, disregarding everyone else. She says, "I'm cultured now," upon returning from Korea.

What does Season 4 have in store for viewers?

Lampert and showrunner Sarah Glinski said that "Cycles and Origins" would be the "official theme" of season 4 in an interview with Netflix's Tudum that took place after the conclusion. In the season 3 finale, Georgia's mother and stepdad made an unexpected appearance, but they didn't elaborate on what it meant. This information leads us to believe that viewers will discover more about Georgia's origins. Additionally, she said that Gil, Austin's father, may not have shown up in season 3 as a finale. “Look, when Georgia framed Gil, we thought that would be it—but then he walked free—so I would think there's more to the story," she said.

Season 4 will be mostly devoted to the plot around her newborn child and the search for the child's biological father. "Maybe someone new is about to become a dad," Howey teases. Season 4 will focus on the "burden" that Georgia unwittingly imposed on her children, according to Glinski. The impact on her children throughout Georgia's trial was what we saw as the most significant effect. What we'll be faced with in season 4 is the weight she leaves Austin and Ginny at the conclusion of season 3.

Ginny and Georgia Season 4 release date

Ginny and Georgia Season 4 has not yet been officially announced by Netflix. However, considering that the writers' room started working on it in February 2025, it will likely be quite a while before production begins on the next chapter. We can anticipate the release of season 4 in 2027 if the show's prior release schedule is any indication. That is, however, speculation at this time.
