Today, the cricketing world and India’s business elite stood still as Arjun Tendulkar, the all rounder son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, officially tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart and entrepreneur, Saaniya Chandok. Arjun Tendulkar’s marriage ceremony was a masterclass in elegance, that perfectly blended traditional Marathi rituals with the glamour of the high profile Mumbai wedding.

The wedding ceremony

The main wedding ceremony was hosted at The St Regis, Mumbai, and was centered around a revolutionary design concept. Breaking away from the traditional square stage, the couple took their vows beneath a striking 270-degree mandap installation. This unique layout allowed the guests at Arjun Tendulkar’s wedding to feel physically and emotionally closer to the rituals, creating an atmosphere of intimacy despite the grand scale.

The decor theme at Arjun Tendulkar’s marriage ceremony was titled SaaJ, which focused on subtle grandeur. The ballroom was transformed into a dreamlike garden featuring clouds of white baby’s breath, blush pink roses, and muted gold accents. The wedding ceremony followed traditional Maharashtrian rituals, paying homage to Arjun’s heritage.

Wedding outfits

In a refreshing departure from the pastel trend that has dominated celebrity weddings recently, Arjun and Saaniya chose a bold, regal palette for their big day.

While Arjun looked every bit the royal groom in a deep maroon-red sherwani, Saaniya Chandok was a vision in a heavy red zari saree. Sachin Tendulkar, himself, looked extremely dignified in a golden-ivory sherwani, while Anjali Tandulkar turned heads in a vibrant hot pink saree. Sara Tendulkar, the groom’s sister opted for a two-toned pink and gold saree, completing a perfectly coordinated family portrait that quickly went viral.

The wedding guests

The guest list for Arjun Tendulkar’s wedding ceremony was led by MS Dhoni and Sakshi, who arrived in coordinated outfits. Also present at the event were former legends like Sunil Gavaslar, Rahul Dravid, and Anil Kumble, alongside Arjun’s teammates from the Mumbai Indians.

From the film fraternity, Shah Rukh Khan made a stylish entry with Gauri and Suhana Khan, the latter two twinning in stunning yellow ensembles. The Bachchan family was also out in full force, with Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan twinning in elegant ivory, followed by Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The business world was represented by Mukesh and Nita Ambani, who have long considered the Tendulkar’s a part of their extended family.

The Mehendi ceremony

The atmosphere at Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandok’s mehendi ceremony was a masterclass of quiet luxury. Moving away from the typical loud, neon palettes, which are often seen at celebrity pre-weddings, the couple chose a theme that felt both grounded and grand. The venue was blanketed in a sunshine and jasmine aesthetic, featuring thousands of hand-strung marigolds cascading from the ceilings, which were balanced by the serene scent of fresh jasmine.

The vibe of Arjun Tendulkar’s mehendi ceremony was notably intimate yet high-energy. While the guest list features the giants of the Indian industry and sport, the mood remained that of a close-knit family gathering. A central floral installation, which was that of a life-sized Tree of Life made of yellow and orange blossoms, served as the backdrop of the mehendi application. Guests were treated to live Sufi music that thereafter transitioned into high-tempo Bollywood beats as the evening progressed. The fusion of the Ghai family’s hospitality legacy and the Tendulkar’s understated grace created a unique Mumbai royalty vibe that felt personal, warm, and exceptionally elegant.

The outfits of the Mehendi ceremony

When it came to fashion, the couple opted for a coordinated and ethereal look that broke the traditional ‘Green for Mehendi’ rule.

Arjun Tendulkar channeled a modern prince in a structured ivory and champagne gold sherwani. The outfit features tonal thread work embroidery that gave it a rich texture without making it look overly heavy. He paired it with beige fitted trousers and traditional rab juttis, epitomising the less is more philosophy.

Saaniya Chandok was the star of the night in a shimmering silver and ivory lehenga. The ensemble was encrusted with delicate sequins and mirror work that caught every flash of the paparazzi’s cameras. Her look was completed with a statement pearl drop choker, matching earrings, and a dainty maang tikka. Her makeup was kept dewy and natural, which perfectly complemented her bride-to-be glow.

Sara Tendulkar was perhaps the most talked about figure at the mehendi ceremony as she wore a vibrant, multi coloured lehenga by Arpita Mehta. With deep pinks, reds, and mirror work, she added a necessary pop of colour to the family photos. Meanwhile Sachin Tendulkar looked dapper in an emerald green kurta with a sophisticated brocade jacket.

The Mehendi ceremony guest list

The guest list was a testament to the Tendulkar family’s deep rooted respect in India. Since the couple has ties to both the sports world as well as the Graviss Group business empire, the room was a powerhouse of influence.

The Class of ‘92 and ‘11 was well represented with cricketing legends. Yuvraj SIngh and Hazel Keech made a stylish entrance, while Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra brought a touch of Punjabi flair. Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge added to the glamour, looking every bit the power couple.

Other notable attendees included political leader Raj Thackeray and several high ranking business associates of the Ghai family.

Following the pre-wedding puja hosted by Nita and Mukesh Ambani in Jamnagar, several members of the Ambani inner circle were also present to bless the couple, highlighting the lifelong bond between the two families.

Social media buzz

Within minutes of the first photos from Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandok’s mehendi ceremony being released by celebrity photographers, the hashtag #ArjunSaaniyaWedding began trending across X and Instagram. Fans were particularly taken by the wholesome nature of the event, especially a viral video of Sachin Tendulkar getting emotional while talking about Arjun’s journey.

Fashion influencers were quick to dissect Sara Tendulkar’s look, with her Punjabi Paranda hairstyle becoming an overnight trend for 2026 bridesmaids. The mix of candid family moments, like Arjun laughing with his teammates, and the high fashion portraits of Saaniya made this the most digitally engaged Indian wedding of the year so far.
