1. Hummus Platter

Match-time munchies are best when they come in sharing platters. Try this beetroot hummus and pair it with crispy falafels and pita pockets.

2. Tabbouleh Salad

If you prefer something light and healthy, go for the tabbouleh salad. Make it by combining finely chopped veggies, chopped parsley, bulgur wheat, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt as per preference.

3. Falafel Wrap

Dinner scenes will be sorted if you’ve got these wraps. Prepare this filling snack by wrapping falafels in a flatbread with some hummus and a mixed green salad.

4. Grilled Halloumi

Ready in less than 10 mins (including prep) this is a cheese lover’s dream come true. Halloumi is a type of cheese in the Middle East that you can season with olive oil, salt, and some pepper, and grill for a couple of minutes on each side.

5. Fattoush Salad

Fattoush, a type of Mediterranean salad, is made by combining lettuce, tomato, cucumber, radish, and fried pieces of pita bread. It’s simple and easy to prepare at home for lunch, brunch, or snack time.

6. Shawarma

Here’s another wrap that you must try if you’re in Qatar or at a Middle Eastern eatery near your home. Shawarma is a pita bread wrap with salad, hummus, and meat grilled on a rotating skewer or cone.

7. Shish Kebab

Shish Tawook or shish kebab makes for the perfect match-time munchie/starter. It’s basically marinated meat placed on skewers and roasted. It is traditionally made using a tender and leaner steak of lamb or other red meat.

8. Baba Ganoush

If you’re missing the chip-and-dip sessions, whip up some baba ganoush (a type of dip made from eggplant, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and salt) and enjoy it with some crispy pieces of lavash or pita bread.
