INGREDIENTS

  • For Doi Maach

    • 4 pieces Rohu fish

    • 1 tsp salt

    • 1 tsp turmeric powder

    • mustard oil for frying

    • 4 cloves

    • 2 green cardamoms

    • 2 bay leaves

    • 2 cinnamon sticks

    • 2 onion paste

    • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste

    • 200 gm curd

    • 2 tbsp besan (gram flour)

    • 2 green chillies

    • 1 tsp Bengali garam masala

    • salt to taste

PREPARATION

    Add salt and turmeric on Rohu and coat it on all sides of the pieces.

    In warm mustard oil, fry the fish and remove it once done.

    In the same oil add spices, clove, green cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves and let it splutter.

    Add Red chillies, onion paste, ginger garlic paste and saute the masala well till rawness goes away.

    Take curd and add besan to it and whisk it well, this will avoid in curdling of curd. Add curd to the masala, salt and mix the gravy well.

    When the gravy is cooked, add fried fish pieces, green chilli and cook the fish in the gravy for 5 minutes.

    Serve Doi Maach hot with rice.
