Green Gram Kheer By Savitha Mahadevan

Its a Kheer made of Cooked Greengram in jaggery syrup and boiled milk or coconut milk....

Serves4 nos

Cooking Time30-40 mins

INGREDIENTS

  • Green Gram - 50 gm
  • Jaggery - 1/2 cup
  • Milk - 1/2 cup boiled
  • Ghee - 3tsp
  • Cashews 5-6 and Coconut pices - 2-3 small cut pieces for seasoning
  • Cardamom powder - 1 pinch

PREPARATION

    Roast greengram and soak for 1 hour. Cook well in a pressure cooker 2 whistles.

    Take a pan, and after cooling and just blend greengram with a steel spoon..

    once again cook it well in lower flame .
  4. 4

    In the meantime crush the jaggery and make a syrup by boiling it with water.
  5. 5

    When the green gram cooked add it into the jaggery syrup and stir well for 5 mins.

    Add boiled milk and cardamom powder in this stage just stir in one time in low flame.
  7. 7

    Add some ghee in a pan heat it add chopped coconut piece and cashews in it and season kheer. Now Greengram Kheer is ready..

    Note : For rich flavor add cumin and ginger powder.. We can use coconut milk also for rich taste... 2nd milk for boiling and first thick milk last when we off the gas...
