Fresh Coconut Barfi By Rohan Das

Coconut Burfi is a traditional Indian Sweet made with coconut, sugar/jaggery, milk, cardamoms and sometimes nuts. Also Known by different names such as Kobbari burfi, Nariyal burfi, Copra pak & Tengai burfi, it a popular festive delight that's delicious and addictive too. Below I Have Shared recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • Scraped coconut (4 cups)
  • Milk (3/4 cup)
  • Sugar (3 cups if coconut is unsweetened)
  • Ghee (2 tablespoons)
  • Dry fruits/Saffron strands/Rose Petals (for garnish)

PREPARATION

    In a pan, mix coconut, milk and sugar well. Put the pan on heat, stirring continuously.

    Now, add crushed cardamom seeds to the mix and cook till the mixture becomes a little dry.
  3. 3

    Now Grease a tray with ghee, pour the mixture into it and spread in an even fashion.

    Cool and cut into square/diagonal pieces. Garnish and serve!.
