He was born in Jiaganj, Murshidabad, West Bengal, on April 25, 1987. Having a lifelong passion for music, he started studying classical music at the age of three. When he took part in the reality programme ‘Fame Gurukul’ in 2005, Arijit Singh received his big break in the industry. He made his Bollywood playback singing debut in 2011 with the song Phir Mohabbat from the film Murder 2. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has a lovely song called Kabira. Pritam composed the song, and Arijit Singh and Harshdeep Kaur performed the vocals. The song received multiple awards including the Zee Cine Award for Best Male Playback Singer and the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer (duet).

4. 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016)

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the title song of the film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, was written by Pritam. This is definitely one of Arijit Singh’s top songs and like all other songs, this too has received many awards.

5. ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’ from Tamasha (2015)

The hauntingly beautiful song Agar Tum Saath Ho, from the film Tamasha, was written by A. R. Rahman. The song was performed by Arijit Singh and Alka Yagnik, who also won the Zee Cine Award for Best Male Playback Singer and the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer (duet) for their efforts. 7. 'Gerua' from Dilwale (2015)

The romantic ballad Gerua, written by Pritam, is from the movie Dilwale. Arijit Singh and Antara Mitra sang the song, which became a super hit just a few hours after it was released. In fact, the movie was known more for this Arijit Singh song than the movie plot itself.
