Spring is a wonderful time when mother nature is in her full glory and the ever-surreal Ladakh needs to be on your list now. The Department of Tourism in Ladakh is introducing the Apricot Blossom festival in the Union Territory this year.

The Tourism Department of Ladakh in a bid to popularise the apricot blossoming season on the national and international tourist map has introduced this festival during this time of the year. Popularly known as Chuli in Ladakh, this year’s theme is Chuli Mentok 2022.

While we are aware of the mesmerising cherry blossoms in Japan and Meghalaya, similarly apricot blossoms paint a beautiful picture, especially against the hilly backdrop of the region.

Every year during the month of April, the valleys come alive with the vibrancy of these pink-centred white flowers and it is definitely a sight to behold. Being held from April 13 to April 22, 2022, the festival is all set to be a visual treat for travellers.

The festival will be held across two places – Kargil and Leh. In Leh, you can visit the festival in Domkhar Dho, Achinathang, Skuru, and Tertsey. In Kargil, the festival is being held in Garkhone, Sanjak, and Karkichu.

The festival will be held along with cultural programmes, presenting local handicrafts exhibitions, sale of apricot-based products, and more - the list is definitely thrilling and exciting!
