Christopher Nolan won the Director's Prize for his film “Oppenheimer". The film also got the trophy for the Best Drama Motion Picture Award, defeating five other films, including Bradley Cooper's Leonard Bernstein biography "Maestro" and Martin Scorsese's "Killers of the Flower Moon”.
Lily Gladstone, who played Mollie Burkhart in "Killers of the Flower Moon," took home the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama trophy.
"Barbie" was up against "Poor Things" for the best musical or comedy motion film category, and the latter won. Yorgos Lanthimos is the director of the scientific fantasy black comedy film, "Poor Things". The stellar cast includes Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Christopher Abbott, Ramy Youssef, and Jerrod Carmichael.
Barbie won the Golden Globe Award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement, which didn’t quite come as a surprise given the film’s popularity.
The Best Original Song Award went to "What Was I Made For?", from the film ‘Barbie’. Written by Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, the song has also won itself a Grammy nomination.
For her portrayal of Shiv Roy in "Succession," Sarah Snook was awarded Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama. "Succession" also received a nomination for Best Television Drama and won it.
Ludwig Goransson won the Best Original Score, Motion Picture, for ‘Oppenheimer’. The two-time Grammy winner has also composed the score for ‘Black Panther’ and ‘Wakanda Forever’.
The Ironman’s part in ‘Oppenheimer’ did not go unnoticed either as the actor won the award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture.
Gervais won the award for comedy under the Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy or Television category, for the ‘Ricky Gervais: Armageddon’.
For "The Bear," Jeremy Allen White won the Best Actor in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy award. Allen had also won the award last year in the same category for the first season of ‘The Bear’.
The award for the Best Male Actor – Motion Picture Drama went to Cillian Murphy for his remarkable performance in Oppenheimer.
Emma Stone, whose performance has been labelled from being “outstanding” to “boundary-pushing” in Yorgos Lanthimos’s film ‘Poor Things’, took home the Best Actress – Motion Picture – Musical/Comedy award at The Golden Globes 2024.
