The trailer of the much-anticipated sports drama ‘Liger’ starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday is out.
In the Puri Jagannadh-directed film, Vijay plays the character of a MMA fighter who suffers from speech impediment.
The film marks Mike Tyson’s Bollywood debut as well. Vijay is all hearts for Tyson, “This man is love. Every moment I am making memories! And this one will forever be special..#Liger Vs The Legend.. When I came face to face with Iron (sic).”
The trailer opens with Vijay entering an MMA cage, wrapped in the Indian flag and chronicles his journey to glory. Ananya Panday plays his love interest in the film and it’s her first multi-lingual film.
The movie features Ramya Krishnan in a powerful role as Vijay’s on screen mother who introduces him as a crossbreed between a lion and a tiger.
Talking about his experience, Vijay shared a note on Instagram that read, “A film that took my everything. As a performance, mentally, physically my most challenging role. I give you everything! Coming soon. #Liger (sic).”
The film also stars Ronit Roy and Makarand Deshpande in pivotal roles.
The film is co-produced by Karan Johar and marks Vijay’s debut in Bollywood. It will hit the theatres on August 25, 2022.
