FDCI India Couture Week was held this year at Taj Palace, New Delhi from July 22. The 10-day extravaganza saw some of India’s biggest designers showcasing their couture collections. Here’s a round-up of all that took place at the couture week.
The event began with couturier Tarun Tahiliani showcasing his collection 'The Painterly Dream'. The collection saw extravagant lehengas, gorgeous sarees and menswear using the finest embroidery techniques.
Rahul Mishra's collection titled, 'Tree of Life', saw exquisite metallic gowns, lehengas and body-suits which were a depiction of nature was all about dense forests and vegetation presented in modern-day silhouettes.
Veteran couturier, JJ Vallaya presented his collection 'Alma' which marked the celebration of 30 years of his label and was inspired from Spain. The collection was an amalgamation of luxurious lehengas and sarees.
The vivacious Rashmika Mandanna was the showstopper for couturier Varun Bahl's 'New Leaf' collection, which was inspired by the bounty of nature found in the wilderness of forests with a hint of drama and fun.
The gorgoeus Aditi Rao Hyadri walked the runway in Anju Modi's 'The Road Less Travelled' collection, which showcased simple and elegant silhouettes. The collection encompassed one's learnings and experiences through various walks of life.
Designer duo Rohit and Rahul presented their collection 'Fibonacci' that showcased stylish gowns for woman and suits for men. The collection was curated keeping in mind the global Indian, and had the gorgeous Malaika Arora as the showstopper.
Designer Dolly J presented her collection' Meraki' - a collection of gowns in golden hues that were inspired by the depth of tranquility in art. The beautiful Shilpa Shetty walked the ramp as the showstopper.
Designer Siddharth Tyler marked his debut this year with his collection with Farhan Akhtar as the showstopper looking dapper in a black and gold sherwani.
The couple couturiers, Falguni and Shane showcased their collection 'Love Forever' that showcased the best of Indo-Parisian culture and architecture. Fashionista Sara Ali Khan elegantly walked the runway in their creation.
Amit Agarwal's collection was a surreal mix of fun and fantasy silhouettes that was inspired by realities of the present, celebration of the fact that we are the glitch in time.
The grand finale showcased Anamika's collection 'An Experiment' with actor Rajkumar Rao turning showstopper in a black overall suit over ripped pants. The collection was worn with exquisite pieces of jewellery from the jewellery partner, Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas.
