'Cirkus' First Look: Ranveer Singh Shines In Rohit Shetty's Upcoming Multi-Starrer

After working together on ‘Simmba’ and ‘Sooryavanshi’, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh and director Rohit Shetty are back again with another exciting project – ‘Cirkus’.

Rohit shared the first poster of ‘Cirkus’ on Instagram today, which mentioned that the film is slated to release on Christmas 2022.

The poster reads ‘The Show Begins Christmas 2022’, and it features Ranveer Singh along with Pooja Hegde, Johnny Lever, Siddharth Jadhav, Sanjay Mishra, Ashwini Kalsekar, Murli Sharma, Vrajesh Hirjee, and a few other Indian actors in pivotal roles.

‘Cirkus’ is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s legendary play ‘The Comedy of Errors’ and will feature Ranveer in a double role.

The story will revolve around two identical twins (played by Ranveer Singh), who were accidentally separated from each other at birth. Did they get lost at a Kumbh mela, a circus, or was it someplace else? Only the trailer can tell us.

Rohit Shetty isn’t the first Hindi cinema director to adapt this Shakespearean classic. In 1982, director and poet Gulzar had done so, and the result was ‘Angoor’, which starred Sanjeev Kumar as lead.

“'Cirkus' is a Christmas gift for you and your family! Kyunki iss ‘Cirkus' mein bohot sara Golmaal hai!!!” read Rohit’s caption for the film’s poster.

Based on its release date, ‘Cirkus’ will clash with two films – ‘Merry Christmas’ starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, and ‘Ganapath’ starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon.
