‘Koffee With Karan’ might be touted as India’s best celebrity chat show and the most awaited one, but a bunch of celebrities steer clear from the controversial show as much as possible. As the new season begins today, let’s take a look at stars who refused to appear on the show.
Ranbir has always been vocal about his aversion towards the show. Earlier, speaking on the AIB podcast in 2017, he said, “I was forced this season. I told him ‘I don’t wanna come’ and me and Anushka were actually going to protest and bring the entire film industry together because it’s not fair. He is making money out of us. We come and we get screwed through the year. And it’s not right.”
According to a News18 Showsha report, the Telugu superstar has refused to appear on the show. However, the reason is still not disclosed.
The ‘RRR’ actor promptly followed his co-star Ram Charan and refused to be a part of the chat show for reasons unknown.
Anybody who’s a John Abraham fan knows how much he prefers to keep his life private. So it didn’t come as a surprise to know that he also turned down Karan’s invitation as he was hesitant and not in favour of talking about his personal life in public.
Even though Akshay has appeared on the show thrice, he still has inhibitions. On the show, he said, “Every time someone comes on your show Karan, the next few days they are just calling up other people and clarifying that they didn't mean to say what they said on the show. I don't want to have such controversies in my daily life, and that's why I never came to your show.”
Anushka may have appeared quite a few times on the chat show, but she refused to appear for season 5. According to a SpotBoyE report, this was during the time she was dating Virat Kohli, and she didn't want to talk about her relationship publicly.
None of the Khans will grace the Koffee couch this season. In an interview with NDTV, Karan said, “The three Khans are not coming on this season. I don’t have the power to pull them. I can get them for a party but not on my show. I can't even manage two out of the three Khans.”
