​Despite being caught up in a whole lot of controversy, Vivek Agnihotri’s film, 'The Kashmir Files’ walked away with the ‘Best Film; award. The film is tells the story of the struggles of Kashmiri Pandits during the insurgency in the valley.


​The Telugu film, ’RRR’ was awarded the ‘Film Of The Year’ title at the 2023-Dadasaheb Phalke Awards. Directed by SS Rajamouli, the film has pretty much made history by winning 15 international awards.

​Ranbir Kapoor

​While Brahmastra: Part 1 may not have had its fair share of naysayers, Ranbir Kapoor clearly won hearts with his performance in this film as he won the ‘Best Actor’ title at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2023.

​Alia Bhatt

​Alia’s performance in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ was not only intense but also spot on. Her winning the ‘Best Actress’ tag at the Dadasaheb Phalke 2023 Awards probably didn’t surprise too many people.

​R Balki

​R Balki of ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Pa’ fame, among others, was acknowledged for his directorial skills in ‘Chup: Revenge of the Artist’ as he won the ‘Best Director’ award. The film starred Dulquer Salam, Shreya Dhanwantary and Sunny Deol.

​Rishab Shetty

​Call it violent, call it over the top, but ‘Kantara’ cannot be ignored, and its lead actor, Rishab Shetty, who plays the role of Kadubettu Shiva got his due as he won the ‘Most Promising Actor’ tag at the awards.

​Maniesh Paul

​Maniesh Paul, known for his role as Manish in the short ‘Hichki’ won the Best Actor In A Supporting Role for the film Jugjugg Jeeyo. The film stars Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani.


​Rekha’s contribution to the Indian film industry cannot be listed easily. From being one of the best actors to the most elegant and stylish, she’s held many titles over the years of her illustrious career. She was acknowledged for her Outstanding Contribution In The Film Industry at the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2023.

​Anupam Kher

​Actor par excellence, Anupam Kher was award the ‘Most Versatile Actor Of The Year’ for the film ‘The Kashmir Files’. In this film, he plays the role of Puskhar Nath Pandit.


​Hariharan, whose strengths lie in Indian classical to pop music, was awarded for his ‘Outstanding Contribution In The Music Industry’. Known for his sheer versatility, Hariharan has sung more than 15,000 songs in 10 regional languages including Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Sinhala and Bhojpuri.

​Neeti Mohan

​Neeti Mohan won the ‘Best Female Singer’ for her song ‘Meri Jaan’ from the film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. She’s also known for her playback singing in films such as ‘Padmaavat’, ‘Student Of The Year’, among others. ‘Meri Jaan’ incidentally had about 10 million hits on Youtube, making it a raging success.

​Rudra: The Edge of Darkness

​Starring Ajay Devgn as Rudra Veer Singh, a super cop who’s out to clean the crime-infested streets of Mumbai, “Rudra: Edge of Darkness” won the ‘Best Web Series’ award. The series also stars Esha Deol, Tarun Gahlot, Atul Kulkarni.
