8 Promising OTT Releases In June

​From movies and web series based on true events to much-awaited period dramas, here’s a list of OTT releases in June.

​1. Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai

​Based on true incidents, Manoj Bajpayee’s upcoming movie revolves around an ordinary lawyer who is out to fight an extraordinary case against a powerful godman accused of assaulting a minor. It’s streaming on Zee5.

​2. Taj: Reign of Revenge Season 2

​The Zee5 period drama revolving around the Mughals has garnered raving reviews. With new and powerful characters, it’s all set to release new episodes of the second season on May 26.

​3. City Of Dreams Season 3

​Directed and written by Nagesh Kukunoor, the upcoming political thriller stars Priya Bapat and Atul Kulkarni in lead roles is slated to release on hotstar on May 26.

​4. School Of Lies

​Disney+ Hotstar’s upcoming thriller starring Nimrat Kaur, Aamir Bashir, Geetika Vidya Ohlyan, Sonali Kulkarni and Jitendra Joshi is based on true events. The story revolves around a school boy who goes missing from his boarding school, in which Nimrat plays the character of a guidance counsellor. It will be released on Disney+hotstar on June 2.

​5. Scoop

​Hansal Mehta’s much-awaited thriller series, ‘Scoop’ starring Karishma Tanna, Zeeshan Ayyub, Harman Baweja, Prosenjit Chatterjee and Deven Bhojani, is an adaptation of Jigna Vora’s critically acclaimed book, ‘Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison’. The biography chronicles her experiences as a crime reporter who’s accused and arrested for a murder. It will be released on Netflix on June 2.

​6. Avatar: The Way of Water

​The sequel of the epic science fiction movie directed by James Cameron Avatar is all set to make its OTT debut on Disney+hotstar on June 7.

​7. Bloody Daddy

​The official adaptation of the French-language film ‘Nuit Blanche’ titled ‘Bloody Daddy’ stars Shahid Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Diana Penty and Ronit Roy in pivotal roles. It will release on June 9 on Jio Cinema.

​8. The Night Manager

​The high-octane thriller is an adaptation of John le Carre's novel of the same name and has been well received by the audience. The second season starring Aditya Roy Kapur, Sobhita Dhulipala and Anil Kapoor, will release on Disney+hotstar on June 30.
