In one of her interviews, Alia confessed having a crush on Ranbir since she was 11. The duo had met on the sets of ‘Black’ when Ranbir was assisting Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
The couple put all speculations to rest with their presence at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception in May 2018. Dressed in their traditional finery, they were a sight to behold and looked absolutely made for each other.
The same year, Ranbir admitted being in a relationship with Alia saying it’s new right now and he doesn’t want to talk about it much.
Falling in love with Ranbir was just like walking on stars and clouds for Alia and that’s how she described their relationship.
In 2018, Alia visited Rishi Kapoor in the US where the late actor was undergoing treatment for cancer. The ‘Gangubai’ actress also ringed in the New Year with the entire Kapoor family.
In 2019, during the 64th Vimal Elaichi Filmfare Awards the actress pointed at Ranbir and confessed her feelings in her acceptance speech. She addressed Ranbir as ‘my love’.
In September 2021, the couple took off to Kenya for a vacation. Even though they tried to keep it under wraps, pictures of their Masai Mara adventure floated all over the internet.
From ringing in the New Year’s eve to going for offbeat vacations and being spotted with each other’s families, the couple has been quite open about their relationship lately.
Alia is pretty close to Ranbir’s family and her presence at their family get-togethers is proof. And it’s no secret that Ranbir’s mother Neetu Kapoor is very fond of Alia and already considers her as family.
Their upcoming movie, ‘Brahmastra’ has created enough buzz already. It’s their first movie together and it’s set to release in the theatres on 9th September this year.
