Celebrities showed up in their finest at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre inauguration this weekend. Here’s a look at who wore what.
Isha Ambani was dressed in a white and muted gold outfit, designed by Anamika Khanna. The outfit brought together traditional motifs with a contemporary silhouette quite well. Here she’s flanked by Mukesh Ambani and Ajay Piramal, both of whom turned up in black bandhgalas.
Check out how stunning the Kapoor sisters looked at the soiree. While Kareena exuded gorgeousness in a red lehenga designed by Anjul Bhandari, Karisma sparkled in a tightly draped sari, paired with a cape, created by none other than Sabyasachi. Heady combo indeed.
If anyone can give others serious competition when it comes to being edgy, Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor would. Malaika’s almost-sheer ornate one piece made her look ethereal, not to mention the gold transparent cape. Arjun paired delightfully with her, keeping it subtle, black with muted embroidery on the jacket.
Anoushka Shankar, gave the colour green a promotion with her outfit. The snug evening mermaid-gown, designed by Amit Aggarwal, fit her perfectly as she kept her makeup and accessories to the minimum.
Karan Johar’s dramatic look at the event was eye catching indeed. Draped in a Rahul Mishra outfit, his floor length jacket with intricate embroidery got our attention.
Actor Aditi Rao Hydari made the understated look glam in her Rahul Mishra-outfit at the NMACC inauguration. The motifs on her off-white embroidered skirt paired beautifully with the gold long-sleeved shirt, keeping her look regal and subtle.
Designed by Tarun Tahiliani, Madhuri Dixit-Nene’s heavily sequinned and beaded ensemble – flared pants and a crop top - paired with a short jacket made her dazzle even more as she matched her outfit with heavy gold jewellery.
Rajkummar Rao in the gorgeous Anamika Khanna-blue suit may not have been all about razzle-dazzle but he sure looked dapper and matched Patralekhaa perfectly. She was in an Anamika Khanna outfit as well - the embroidered slit skirt with her cropped blouse and the long cape was stunning.
While Hrithik Roshan turned up in a simple black kurta, looking stunning nevertheless, Saba Azad in the custom red dress by Amit Aggarwal was divine. She paired it with minimal jewellery and stuck to classic makeup to finish her look.
Farhan and Shibani Akhtar in their Anamika Khanna outfits looked perfectly styled. Farhan in his black kurta paired with his striped loose pants drew attention to his heavily-embroidered jacket. Shibani on the other hand, in her gold slit skirt and crop top looked like a queen. Don’t miss her heavy cape and the belt at her waist.
Bhumi Pednekar’s black-silver gown was a sight to behold. And while some might think it a bit OTT, but this gown, with detailed motifs and frayed edges, also by Anamika Khanna, cannot be ignored. Chunky jewellery to add more layers to her look, Bhumi carried the outfit in style.
Khushi Kapoor looked like a star from the yesteryears in her gorgeous gold and cream lehenga-choli. Her tied-back hair and the vintage gold choker around her neck was spot on. Her outfit was designed by Falguni and Shane Peacock.
Aishwarya Rai and her daughter Aaradhya came dressed in contrasting colours. While the actor had on a simple black velvet embroidered sharara set with a polki necklace, her daughter wore a pale short kurta outfit but replete with embellishments.
Can Masaba not nail classic fashion ever? Her black and white long skirt and jacket outfit was desi and yet so global, a design from the House of Masaba. Don’t miss the stunning gold leaf motif on her skirt.
Salman Khan kept it simple and wore a green suit to the NMACC party. And while he does rock green, don’t miss the retro-printed pocket square peeking out from his jacket.
Dressed to kill on the pink carpet at the NMACC event, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor looked their classiest best. Saif sure rocks a bangdhala in style and Kareena, in the custom Shahab Durazi creation not only looked elegant but carried the minimalistic look in style.
How could these two not make a statement? While PeeCee wore an Amit Aggarwal outfit that was fashioned from a vintage Benarasi patola sari paired with a holographic bustier, Nick kept the balance in his black bandhgala.
Tahira Kashyap’s embroidered red co-ord set by Rahul Mishra looked perfectly matched with Ayshmann’s embroidered jacket, adding just an extra dose of desi style to western designs.
The stunning actor wore a beautiful dress from Eli Saab’s Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2023 collection at the NMACC inauguration. Alia glittered as much as the gold on her outfit, just in the right quantity.
Ananya Panday, in a Rahul Mishra muted gold gown with a low back and a stunning fall and 3D floral prints, not to mention the cut-off bodice, almost resembled a work of art. For this look, Ananya let the dress do the talking, keeping her makeup a soft gold and no accessories.
Zendaya’s midnight-blue saree designed by Rahul Mishra would have made Van Gogh proud. The beautiful floral motifs at the edge of the pleats and the pallu were a lovely touch too. Fashion stylist Law Roach, who was with her, took style up a notch up as well, also in a Rahul Mishra outfit.
Sonam Kapoor showed up at the NMACC event in a stunning multi-coloured outfit designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Apparently, her outfit represented 35 years of designs by the fashion house, and put together across 20 panels.
Tom Holland was there too, looking delightfully under the radar (as if!) in his black tie. That man can steal hearts in a pair of shorts.
Gigi Hadid redefined the traditional drape in the masterpiece crafted by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. She wore a stunning white and gold chikankari sari that took the craftswomen behind it, a year to make. She left no stones unturned. The stunning gold bangles and her gold blouse that resembled a necklace – chef’s kiss.
