Before you head out to frolic with friend and family on Holi, here are few things you should do.
Apply coconut oil generously to your hair, making sure it reaches the roots. This will shield your scalp and make it much easier to remove the colour once you wash your hair.
Apply a thick layer of moisturiser to your hands, face, and neck before going out to play as it will help your skin from getting damaged.
After nourishing your skin with a moisturiser, apply a waterproof sunscreen to help protect your skin from colours.
Before you go out to play, apply lip balm to your lips. This will provide your lips with the necessary moisture and care. It will also keep colours from settling on your lips.
Make sure you clip your nails because the colours tend to accumulate inside them. Furthermore, a thick coat of nail polish applied to the fingers and toes helps protect them from absorbing colours.
Once you’re home, you need to get rid of the colours immediately. Here are some hacks to give your skin much needed post-Holi TLC.
Remove the colours from your body using a natural scrub that is gentle on the skin. Because your skin has been exposed to dangerous UV rays for a long time, it is a good idea to invest in a tan-removal scrub.
Use natural oils to get rid of any remaining colour on your skin. Massage your skin with a generous amount of oil and wipe it with a wet cotton pad.
After you've finished cleansing your face, apply a hydrating face pack. Maintaining this regimen for a few days will also help to protect your skin from the aftereffects of Holi colours.
