One of the most defining movies of the late 90s would definitely be 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai' and the three Bonafide actors are a treasure in it. Although it was released 25 years ago, it still serves as a mood board for chic and glam outfits.
Even in 1997, Karisma’s closet, styled by designer Manish Malhotra, was fashion-forward and is relevant even today. The outfits Kapoor wore offer longevity, especially to present-day aesthetics. Here are some of her iconic looks from the movie:
Karisma Kapoor’s metallic dress from the poster shot is a must-have. Although metallic-hued outfits are having a moment right now, we must credit Kapoor for this for bringing it much attention back then.
This powder blue dress from Kapoor’s closet in the movie is unmissable. The buckled straps are a great addition and the bodycon fit makes it a must-have for parties. Glittery earrings and beachy waves give this look a unique feel.
In the '90s, before Kim Kardashian's cycling shorts became an 'it-girl' pick, Karisma's yellow cycling shorts and sports bra ensemble with a jacket-around-the-waist style had already made athleisure chic.
Who doesn’t want this blingy co-ord set? Despite being more than 25 years old, this outfit still works. That black sleeve with the thigh-high boots is an impressive display of styling.
The iconic ‘Dance of Envy’ had everyone grooving and Karisma's sports bra, and cycling shorts styled with headband show that the movie was way ahead of its time when it came to style. Karisma even wears a matching short jacket over the crop top.
In her sleeveless dress, Karisma Kapoor proved that lavender was having its moment back then. The neckline was adorned with detailed cutouts that added an edge.
