Rumours and speculations about Bollywood’s current favourite couple, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s, nuptials, were put to rest by Riddhima Kapoor Sahni as she stepped out of Alia’s residence after attending the mehndi ceremony on April 13, 2022.
She confirmed that the star duo will be tying the knot on April 14, 2022 leaving the paparazzi and Bollywood lovers longing for the official wedding pictures to surface.
But who is Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and how does she know so much about Alia-Ranbir’s wedding, a few of us, who aren’t well-versed with the Bollywood family, wondered!
Riddhima is the daughter of veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, and the elder sister of ‘Brahmastra’ actor Ranbir Kapoor. And the cousin of actor Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
A former model, Riddhima is now a fashion designer and entrepreneur. According to her Instagram bio, she is the creative head of ‘R’ Jewellery by Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and partner at Sam & Friends, a kidswear label that’s reportedly named after her daughter Samara.
The 41-year-old celebrity entrepreneur got married to her childhood friend Bharat Sahni in 2006. Her husband is a businessman, and the couple is based in Delhi.
In 2011, Riddhima and Bharat were blessed with a baby girl Samara, who is now 11 years old. Samara often makes appearances on her nani Neetu Kapoor’s Instagram stories and posts.
Apart from being a full-time entrepreneur and mom, Riddhima loves to pursue her interest in yoga and healthy living. Most of her Instagram posts feature her performing yogasanas or flaunting her jewellery designs.
Riddhima, as we know, is currently in Mumbai for her brother Ranbir’s wedding and to welcome sister-in-law Alia Bhatt into the Kapoor family. For the mehendi ceremony, she posted a picture of her in a silver sequin saree by fashion designer and her friend Manish Malhotra.
For the wedding ceremony, she chose a shimmering gold lehenga with a cape dupatta, and paired it with a couple of statement necklaces.
