Do you experience dry skin during winter? Dr Vaishali Gupta has some Ayurveda-approved solutions to the problem. The expert shared it on her Instagram account, tap ahead to read.
According to the expert, no other Ayurvedic ritual works better on dry skin than abhyangam, which is self-massage. And this massage is best done using sesame oil, she mentions.
During the winter season, it is suggested that you consume good fats since they promote good skin and gut axis and help with skin dryness. Ghee, coconut, and oil are a few options.
Mix olive oil and black sesame oil in equal quantities and apply it on damp skin post shower. Dr Gupta suggests that it may keep your skin moisturised till the next day.
“Melt ghee, rub few drops between your palms, and gently apply on your face, and then wipe off with a warm wet tissue after 20 minutes,” the Ayurveda expert suggests. Avoid this if you have acne-prone skin.
You can also try a yoghurt-honey-olive oil mask. Make it by mixing ½ tsp of each item and whisking until the consistency turns creamy. Apply and keep for 15 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Apply a few drops of rosehip oil post this.
