At a star-studded event, India got its Miss India 2022 when 21-year-old Sini Shetty from Karnataka won the pageant held at Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai on Sunday.
Actor Neha Dhupia was one of the jury member for the evening. The panel also had actors Dino Morea and Malaika Arora, designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna, choreographer Shiamak Davar, and former cricketer Mithali Raj.
Sini had her crowning moment in a dazzling silver-sequinned gown by Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. She will now represent India at the prestigious 71st Miss World pageant.
Dedicating a special post to Shetty on Instagram, the organisers of Miss India World said that Sini won hearts with her magnetism, charm, endurance and beauty. They are confident she will make the country proud on the Miss World stage. "World - here she comes," the post read.
Meanwhile, Rubal Shekhawat from Rajasthan emerged as Miss India 2022 first runner-up, Shinata Chauhan from Uttar Pradesh was crowned Miss India 2022 second runner-up.
Born in 2000, Sini holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance. She is currently enrolled in the chartered financial analyst (CFA) professional programme. She is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer.
Before winning the title of Miss India World 2022, Sini Shetty had called Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra her inspiration. The 21-year-old said that a motivational line said by Priyanka during an interview with Etimes turned her into the actor's fan.
She also mentioned that her grandmother has also influenced her life through compassion, values, intellect, and respect. Her gorgeousness is an understatement, and we cannot wait to see her rule the Miss World stage.
